FamilyPost provides a service that allows families to share memories digitally and receive printed family journals. We are based in the Netherlands and comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Data we collect

We collect the following personal data:

With your consent, we use analytics and advertising cookies and similar technologies (see "Cookies and tracking" below). Without your consent, only essential cookies are used.

How we use your data

We process personal data to:

• Provide the FamilyPost service
• Create and print family journals
• Deliver journals via postal services
• Maintain family accounts
• Store memories for future features
• Provide customer support
• Prevent fraud and abuse

Mobile app permissions

The FamilyPost mobile app may request the following permissions on your device. Each is used only for the purpose stated below and can be granted or revoked at any time in your device settings.

• Camera — to capture new photos that you choose to upload to your family.
• Photo library — to select existing photos and videos for upload.
• Location (precise or approximate) — optional; attached to photos so you can browse memories by place. The app works fully without it.
• Notifications — to deliver journal status, upload progress, and family activity updates.

Photos, location, and other data captured via these permissions are stored and shared only as described in the "Data we collect" and "Sharing of data" sections above. Photos are visible only within your private family group.

Legal basis (GDPR)

We process data based on:

• Performance of a contract (providing the service)
• Legitimate interest (improving service and storing memories)
• Legal obligation (financial records)
• Consent (for analytics and advertising cookies and the related sharing of data with Meta and Google)

Children and minors

Minors may use the service. We assume that parents or legal guardians provide consent when minors upload content or join family groups.

If you believe a minor's data was submitted without consent, contact us and we will remove it.

Data retention

We store user-generated content long-term to:

• Preserve family memories
• Enable future print products
• Maintain app functionality

Users may request deletion at any time.

Sharing of data

We share data only with necessary service providers:

• Payment processing: Mollie
• Delivery: PostNL
• Hosting providers: DigitalOcean
• Analytics and advertising: Google (Google Analytics, Google Ads) and Meta Platforms (Meta Pixel and Conversions API)

These parties only process data on our behalf. We never sell personal data.

To measure and improve our advertising, we share limited data with Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. This covers website activity collected via the Meta Pixel and, when you start a subscription, a server-to-server confirmation sent through Meta's Conversions API. Identifiers used to match your action to a Meta account (such as your email address, name and country) are hashed (pseudonymised) before they are sent. This only happens with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. See Meta's Privacy Policy for how they process this data.

International transfers

All data is stored within the EU where possible.

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal data.

Cookies and tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies in three categories:

• Essential — required for login and core site functionality. Always active.
• Analytics — Google Analytics, to understand how the site is used. Set only with your consent.
• Advertising — Meta Pixel and Google Ads, to measure and improve our advertising. Set only with your consent.

When you first visit, a cookie banner lets you accept or decline non-essential cookies. Until you accept, analytics and advertising stay disabled. You can withdraw your consent at any time by clearing this site's cookies in your browser.

Changes

We may update this policy. Users will be notified of major changes.
